Buildings account for a significant share of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. As Baguio continues to grow, increasing development—particularly in high-density residential areas—places greater demand on energy systems while contributing to higher operating costs and environmental impacts.
The City is seeking innovative approaches to promote energy-efficient and climate-responsive buildings. Solutions should encourage sustainable building design, improve natural ventilation and passive cooling, increase the adoption of renewable energy technologies, and strengthen policies and incentives that reduce energy consumption while creating healthier and more resilient communities.
