Baguio’s universities and research institutions generate valuable knowledge and innovative ideas, yet many of these fail to progress into commercially viable products, services, or enterprises. This research-to-market gap limits the economic and societal impact of local innovation and reduces opportunities for entrepreneurship, investment, and job creation.
The City is seeking innovative approaches to strengthen its innovation ecosystem by improving collaboration among academia, government, industry, and the startup community. Solutions should identify barriers to commercialization and explore how Living Labs, startup incubators, technology transfer mechanisms, and other innovation support systems can accelerate the development, validation, and adoption of research-based innovations.
