Baguio City envisions increasing its forest cover to 30% and expanding green spaces to at least 80 square meters per person by 2043. Achieving this goal is essential to improving environmental quality, enhancing climate resilience, and preserving the city’s identity as the country’s Summer Capital.
Rapid urbanization, limited available land, and the need to protect existing green spaces present significant challenges. The City is seeking innovative and practical approaches that can increase urban greenery, improve biodiversity, and encourage long-term stewardship of public and natural spaces.
