As Baguio continues to urbanize, the availability of land for traditional agriculture is becoming increasingly limited. At the same time, disruptions caused by disasters, climate change, and supply chain interruptions can threaten the city’s access to fresh and nutritious food.
The City is seeking innovative approaches to urban agriculture, including vertical farming, rooftop gardens, community and survival gardens, and other space-efficient food production systems. These solutions should increase local food production, strengthen resilience during emergencies, and help ensure a sustainable food supply for Baguio’s growing population.
